Eifeler PVD coating SISTRAL for improved endurance

SISTRAL – Preferred Areas of Application

  • Machining under extreme operating conditions
  • Non-corrosive steels
  • High-performance machining (dry high-speed processing) of very abrasive or hard materials
  • Punching dies
  • Indexable inserts
  • Steel from > 54 to > 62  HRc

Increased Endurance and Cutting Speed

SISTRAL’s chemical resistance, low tendency of crack formation, low thermal conductivity coefficient, extremely high oxidation resistance and hot hardness naturally result in excellent performance indicators. The interplay of these special layer properties allows for even better performance in all areas of application for which standard AlTiN coatings used to be the preferred solution.

Machining Under Difficult Conditions

One of the SISTRAL coating’s main benefits is improved surface quality. This also makes the coat an excellent option for machining tasks such as milling and turning under conditions that bring other coats to the limits of their thermal and mechanical stress capacity. Other areas of application: High-performance machining of very abrasive or hard materials (e.g. Steel from > 54 to > 62 HRc) in dry high-speed operation. With its nano-structure, this PVD coating is also very well suited for the area of punching – for example of VA qualities.

Is SISTRAL the right coating for your area of application? Or would one of our numerous other hard coatings be even better suited for your individual requirements?
